Columbus’ Last Voyage

In 2001, during your holiday in Panama, treasure hunters found the wreck of an old sailing ship. On the seabed lay cannons, falconets, ship’s planks and many wooden crates, among other things. The ship’s name, however, could no longer be made out. Senior scientists were contacted and examined the wreck. Together they finally concluded that the find must be a ship named Vizcaína from Christopher Columbus’s fleet that had been wrecked in 1503.

The investigations have now been going on for a long time. To this day, however, the enigmatic encryption of the cargo crates has not been cracked. You have decided to find out what the world-famous explorer kept hidden in his crates. But they will not simply open – Columbus devised tricky mechanisms to protect the contents of the crates from pirates and his adversaries.

Under time pressure, you break into the storeroom of the valuable cargo. Can you solve the puzzles and open the crates in time?
